Description:

A distillation tower is a vertical separation unit used to separate liquid mixtures into different components based on their boiling points through repeated vaporization and condensation.

Working principle:

A distillation column system consists of a simple distillation column, reboiler, condenser, reflux tank, and other equipment. These are generally arranged as close as possible to each other, following the flow sequence and adhering to specifications, to form an independent operating system. Similar equipment is grouped together; for example, condensers are typically located on the third floor, reflux tanks on the second floor, reboilers are installed at the bottom of the distillation column, and pumps are located on the first floor. This arrangement is not only neat and aesthetically pleasing but also facilitates operation. Due to the special characteristics of the reboiler, its related equipment and piping require careful design.
