Candle filters employ a vertical candle core arrangement. The core design method revolves around the physical characteristics of media flow and solid-phase separation, conforming to the fluid motion laws of solid-liquid separation. The vertically arranged candle core structure allows the media to form a regular flow field from top to bottom, aligning the fluid's direction of travel with the natural settling direction of particles. This reduces the disturbance of solid particles by fluid turbulence, allowing impurities to adhere smoothly to the candle core surface.
The vertical arrangement optimizes the overall formation of the filter cake layer, ensuring a more uniform particle accumulation on the surface of each candle core. This avoids problems such as uneven localized material accumulation and filter cake thickness variations that often occur with horizontal arrangements. The regular and uniform distribution of the filter cake layer allows for a more balanced filtration load on each candle core, preventing localized filtration failure caused by concentrated load on a single filter core and balancing the overall filtration performance of the equipment.
This structural method is also suitable for subsequent slag stripping operations. During cake unloading, the solid slag can fall off naturally by gravity, reducing residue adhesion and accumulation on the filter wall, and simplifying the filter media cleaning process. The regular vertical array layout also optimizes the utilization of the internal space of the tank, allowing the fluid to be evenly distributed inside the tank, avoiding fluid dead zones, and making full use of the screening effect of each filter structure, thus meeting the needs of continuous solid-liquid separation operations.
